Our First Beneficiary Visit!

On the 10th February 2018, the SLPXIV Organising Committee met our friends from MIJ Education Hub during our first beneficiary visit! To start things off, we played fun and exciting ice breakers such as 'Monkey' so that we could get to know each other better.

As Chinese New Year is coming up, the OC taught our Malay beneficiaries how to make lanterns and fishes from red packets as part of a meaningful cultural exchange activity. Red packet lanterns and fishes are traditionally made during Chinese New Year to decorate houses and contribute to the festive spirit.

The beautiful handmade decorations were then hung in classrooms and along corridors, a reminder of the good memories made during our time spent at MIJ Education Hub.

We will be having our 2nd beneficiary visit to MIJ Education Hub on the 26th of February. During which we hope to strengthen bonds with our beneficiaries and bring them more joy and laughter.

Do look out for our future posts on our Facebook page as well as Instagram account and sign up as a volunteer to join us on our subsequent visits to MIJ Education Hub and fundraising events!

Hope to see you there!
